The Hadar Primary School puts an emphasis on two disciplines of knowledge: the Arts, and Science. We believe that these two disciplines are of paramount significance in shaping the desired graduate in our society. On one hand, we wish to foster graduates who possess both thinking skills and knowledge in the sciences. On the other, we want to foster graduates who can express themselves effectively and have the tools that enable them to express themselves creatively and experientially .
A bit of history
The Hadar Primary School is located in a historical building constructed in 1921; it is adjacent to the Technion building in the Hadar neighborhood. Doctor Biram, the Reali’s first principal believed the Hebrew Reali School in Haifa could draw pupils from across Israel and around the world. With the arrival of the first pupils from overseas, it was necessary to find them lodging. At the time, Haifa was a largely Arab city and the security situation was difficult; thus, it was decided to house the pupils in a dormitory, which was built next to the Technion’s courtyard.
In time, classrooms replaced the dormitory rooms, and the building was named “Beit Wolfson”- Wolfson house, after David Wolfson, a Zionist leader and second president of the World Zionist Organization.
